Nintendo Switch Specs Confirmed

Nintendo has officially confirmed more tech specs for its upcoming Switch console. The Switch will use a 6.2-inch 1280×720 resolution multi-touch capacitive screen.

The console will also use 32GB of internal storage, which you can expand with a microSDXC card. The game cartridges are called “game cards” and you drop them in from the top of the Switch.

The Switch will have two speakers at the bottom and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top.

In terms of battery life, Nintendo asserts that the Switch can last over six hours, but will vary depending on the game and usage conditions. The company says that users should be able to get roughly three hours out of the Switch while playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

This Japanese Gravity Rush 2 Commercial Stars a Mischievous Kitten

A live-action commercial for the Japanese version of Gravity Rush 2 stars an adorable kitten that literally turns the world upside down.

The commercial, called Gravity Cat, was posted on PlayStation Japan’s YouTube channel and features two sisters struggling to wrangle a misbehaving, gravity-defying kitten. Gravity Daze 2 is the game’s title in Japan.

Three More Games Added to Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Program

After adding seven Xbox 360 games to the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility catalog on Tuesday, Microsoft added three more to the program today. As announced by Major Nelson, today’s additions include Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10, and Beat’n Groovy.

Nintendo Confirms "No New Development" for Wii U After This Year's Zelda

It sounds like Nintendo won’t release any more Wii U games after The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told Polygon that the highly anticipated RPG, which comes out alongside the Nintendo Switch edition on March 3, could be the last first-party game coming to the underperforming console.

“From a first-party standpoint, there’s no new development coming after the launch of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” the executive said. “We really are at the end of life for Wii U.”

Destiny Update Patch Notes Arrive as Iron Banner Goes Live

Right on schedule, a new “hotfix” for Destiny came out today, while the Iron Banner limited-time multiplayer event has begun.

Update fixes a number of problems, including one where items required to complete Patrol activities in the Plaguelands did not drop as intended. The update also clears out a problem where some of Xur’s Curios were not available to buy, including Three of Coins.

Skyrim Switch Officially Confirmed

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has officially been announced for Nintendo’s Switch console.

The announcement was made during the Switch reveal event, where Bethesda’s Todd Howard appeared in a video to discuss the new version of the studio’s critically acclaimed open-world role-playing game.

“We love to make games and worlds for you to get lost in, that you can make your own, and never want to put down. Now you don’t have to–now you can play Skyrim wherever you want,” he said.

Nintendo Offers Metroid, Mother 3 Fans a Glimmer of Hope

Nintendo’s Switch presentation has come and gone with no sign from some of the dormant series that fans continue to clamor for–things like Metroid and Mother/Earthbound. Even Arby’s is disappointed. And while there still hasn’t been anything announced, that doesn’t mean you should lose all hope.
